Zina Diantha Jacobs Huntington was an interesting, and ambitious woman. She is portrayed in two very different lights, by historical record and Mormon church history. I will present both versions for your reading.
I'll start with historical records, taken from original source materials that I own.
The first account is from the book: "The Lion of the Lord", by Stanley Hirshson.
The second source I'll use is contained within the book: "No Man Knows My History", by Fawn Brodie.
Now the Mormon Church's version of Zina.
This account of Zina's life is from "The Encyclopedia of Mormonism." Her marriage to Jacob and then Joseph Smith is glossed over.
And finally this brief biography from the Mormon magazine "Friend", dated February 1989. The article is titled "Heroes and Heroines: Zina Diantha Huntington Young-- Angel of Mercy"
