THE STEINHAUSERS
Mr. and Mrs. Flavius Steinhauser, 109 Cherry St., were honored on the occasion of their 45th wedding anniversary June 21 by their children.
A 4:30 p.m. mass was held in St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by dinner and a reception at the home of Darl Elchert.
The couple was married June 21, 1941 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the late Rev. George May.
Mrs. Steinhauser is the former Irene Smith, daughter of Mrs. Leona Smith and the late Ralph F. Smith. Steinhauser is the son of the late Philomena and Joseph Steinhauser.
The couple are the parents of two daughters Mrs. Eugene (Mary Ann) Lutes and Mrs. Darl (Jane) Elchert. There are also five grandchildren. Steinhauser is retired from the former Ford Motor Co. in Fostoria.

Flavius Boniface Steinhauser, 83, formerly of 109 Cherry St., died at 4:15 pm Sunday, October 22, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born September 5, 1917, in New Riegel, to Joseph and Philomena (Huss) Steinhauser. On June 21, 1941, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Irene Marie Smith, who survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Mary Ann) Lutes-Walton of Alvada and Mrs. Darl (Jane) Elchert of Tiffin; a sister, Blandina McCarthy of Toledo; five grandchildren, a step-grandchild, six great-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Paul, Clarence, Norbert and Ralph Steinhauser; and three sisters, Thekla Elchert, Louise Juenemann and Marcella Alt.
A 1935 graduate of New Riegel High School, Mr. Steinhauser retired after 31 years of employment as a machine operator at Ford-Autolite in Fostoria. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the United Auto Workers.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 am Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank Murd as celebrant. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the church, School of Opportunity, or to the Seneca County Dialysis Center.
