GEORGE W. BENNER

George W. Benner, 85, of St. Francis Home, died at 6:45 pm Monday, June 30, 1969, in Mercy Hospital. He had been a patient there since June 9.

Mr. Benner was a retired Ohio Cities Water Company employee and was later in the insurance business. He was born in Upper Sandusky March 27, 1887, to Charles and Susan (Seifert) Benner. He married Rose A. Wagner in St. Joseph Church here May 18, 1915, and she died October 12,1962.

Surviving are seven sons and daughters, Sr. M. Georgianna, of Ursuline Convent, Toledo; Mrs. Stanley (Helen) Sumway and Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Boehler, both of Tiffin; William J., Republic; Thomas C., Plainfield, N.J.; John P., Oak Harbor; Joseph R., Cuyahoga Falls; 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and two brothers, Albert, of Republic; and Martin, Tiffin. Three brothers and a sister are deceased.

Mr. Benner was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society. Funeral services will be held in St. Joseph Church at 10 am Thursday, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Hoffmann Memorial from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday.
