GRACE SCHIRA

Grace Susan Schira, former owner of the Mountain View Market, died December 22 at Flagstaff Medical Center. She was 88.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Friday at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 16 W. Cherry Ave. Burial is at the Calvary Cemetery in Flagstaff.

Mrs. Schira was born December 8, 1903, in Frenchtown, Ohio, the daughter of Jennie and Henry Reinhart, and grew up in Fostoria, Ohio. She married William Cletus Schira on October 25, 1927, and the couple moved to Arizona in 1947. They settled in Flagstaff in 1949 and bought the Mountain View Market on Beaver Street. They owned the market until their retirement in 1963.

Mrs. Schira is survived by four children Mary Jane St. Clair of Botswana, Africa; Dr. Donald Schira of Glendale; Janet Wheeler of Flagstaff; Susan Epperson of Flagstaff; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Flagstaff.
