Occupation note: Helen worked as a cook in a Colorado tuberculosis sanitarium governed by nuns. She went to work at the age of 15 to help support the family. She worked there for several years. She also worked as a waitress in her father's bar, Corner-T's, in New Riegel.

Helen J. Steinhauser, 73, of New Riegel, mother of 3 sets of twins, died at 7:24 pm Friday, April 30, 1993, at Mercy Hospital. She was born February 28, 1920, in Tiffin to Theodore and Mary (Benner) Reinhart. She married Ralph A. Steinhauser September 21, 1940, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown. He died November 10, 1988.

Surviving are three sons, Donald R. Steinhauser of Pennsville, N.J., James M. Steinhauser of Tiffin and Thomas J. Steinhauser of New Riegel; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Shirley A.) Dornbirer and Janice M. Dornbirer, both of Sycamore, Mrs. Robert (Sharon R.) Smith of Alvada, and Mrs. Russel (Linda L.) Dickson of Tiffin; three brothers, Helen's twin Harold Reinhart and Arthur Reinhart, both of Fostoria, and Kenneth Reinhart of Elkhart, IN; four sisters, Vivian Kissel, Mrs. Richard (Angela) Fox and Phyllis Bohanon, all of Fostoria, and Marian Kramer of Crossville, TN.; 17 Grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Loren; a brother, Bernard; and a sister Anna Catherine.

Mrs. Steinhauser was a homemaker and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, with the Rev. Ralph Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 pm Monday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will take place at 8:45 pm Monday.
