JOSEPH FALTER

Tiffin---Joseph L. Falter, 83, 315 Hedges St., died in Tiffin Mercy Hospital Tuesday evening.

Born in Bloom Township, Seneca County on May 13, 1904 to Philip and Anna E. (Studer) Falter, he married Maybelle C. Smith on September 13, 1927 in Tiffin's St. Joseph Catholic Church. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Philip of Ashland; daughters, Rose Marie Roberts of Columbus and Donna Spieldenner of Fremont; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Marie Willacker, Germaine Wake and Dorothy Alt, all of Mansfield; Irene Zickafoose of Tiffin; Leona Whiteman of Rhode Island; Bernice Dornbirer of Brokensword, Ohio; and brothers Roman of Tiffin and Albert of Mansfield.

He was a member of Tiffin St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church. He had been a barber for 55 years and had his shop on South Washington Street in Tiffin.

The rosary will be said Friday at St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, at 9:45 am with the funeral mass to follow at 10 am in the church. Burial will be June 12 in St. Joseph Cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation is today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm with a christian wake service at 8:15 pm. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund, the church, or Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
