Biography/Notes

Magdalene Meier was born in August 1811 in Canton Bern, Switzerland. When she was eighteen years old, she went to Canton Basel and worked faithfully for an aristocratic family for four years. There, she met and married Frederick Trott, Jr. in 1833.

Residential note: Magdalena was living with son Christian at the time of the 1880 and 1900 census.

Burial note: Buried South Bend/Bethel Cemetery, Township road 115, lot 17.

Notice--The undersigned has been duly appointed executor of the last will and testament of Frederick Trott, late of Seneca County, Ohio, deceased. Magdalena Trott.

Obituary taken from the Clyde Enterprise April 20, 1905:

Mrs. Magdalena Trott, who died at the home of her son, Christian Trott, at Tiffin, April 14, was buried Monday near McCutchenville, Ohio. Deceased was a highly esteemed lady, who lived to the ripe old age of 93 years, 8 months and 5 days. Those who attended the funeral from this vicinity were Mr. Jacob Trott and daughter, Miss Lena, Mrs. J.J. Allwardt and Miss Lena Dornbirer.
