Mary Huss married Casper Stark on November 2, 1862 at St. Boniface Church in New Riegel, Ohio. The wedding service was officiated by Father Anthony Kramer and witnesses were Nicholas Huss and Xavier Bosch.
Casper Stark was the son of Melchoir and Margaret (Weber) Stark and was born in Bavaria Germany October 13, 1837. Casper's family came over from Germany in 1847.
Mary Huss was the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Hummer) Huss. Her family migrated from Luxembourg and settled in Seneca County. She died of cancer on July 30, 1910. She was considered a highly respected resident of the village. Casper died June 11, 1905 in his home and was considered a fine old gentleman.
The Stark Family were farmers and Casper owned 160 acres of land two miles west of New Riegel, Ohio. There was a ditch named after the family called the "Stark" ditch which ran through their property. The children of Casper and Mary Stark are:

2. Anna (b 1865) was studying to be a nun but died at an early age
3. Magdelena (b 12 Apr 1867 d 29 Dec 1947), married Nicholas Tiell
4. Mary (b 1871 d 1933), married Jacob Hoepf
5. Andrew (b 20 Feb 1873 d 30 Oct 1955), married Theresia Zender
6. Josephine Ann (b 10 Feb 1875 d 8 Jan 1957), married Joseph Tiell
7. Carolina (b 24 Dec 1876 d 29 Apr 1962), married Andrew Arend
8. Joseph P. (b 24 Dec 1879 d 14 Jul 1963), married Minnie Crescent
9. Theodore (b 21 Feb 1881d 4 Nov 1943)
There is one family story concerning Mary Huss waiting up at night for Theodore and Joseph to come home. If they were late arriving from dances and parties, etc., she would be waiting at the door with a broom in her hand. One time they brought a friend home and the boys let him walk in first. Mary was waiting and hit the lad over the head with her broom.
