Obituary taken from the Carey Times, Carey Ohio, Thursday, February 13, 1936:

MRS. CATHERINE KROMER

Mrs. Catherine Kromer, 80, died at the home of her son L.A. Kromer on N. Vance Street, at 11 o'clock Friday evening, after several months illness following a stroke of apoplexy suffered last August. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Our Lady of Consolation Church. Pallbearers were 8 sons: Henry of Fostoria, George of Basom, Leo of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Theodore of Toledo, Leonard, Edward, Cyril, and Paul of Carey. Rev. Paul Vollrath sang high Mass, assisted by the church choir. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The daughter of John and Magdalene (Courtad) Benner, Mrs. Kromer was born May 13, 1855, near Sandusky. She had lived in Carey for 46 years. She married Henry Kromer 59 years ago and he preceded her in death. Eleven children were born and ten are living. They are: Mrs. Vincent Krupp, Leonard Kromer, Edward, Paul, and Cyril Kromer, all of Carey; Mrs. Amanda Simon of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Henry of Fostoria, George of Bascom, Leo of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Theodore of Toledo. Forty-two grandchildren and one great-grandchild are living. Brothers and sisters living are as follows: Louis Benner, Frank Benner, Mrs. Nicholas Seifert, Mrs. Joseph Weinandy and Miss Mary Benner, all of Upper Sandusky. She was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church and of the Christian Mothers Society.
