Beginner - How To Begin?
Starting to research and record your genealogy isn't as hard as you think, the trick is to do it one step at a time.
Step 1 - Gather What You Know.
-
Start by asking yourself a few questions. Using the 5 W's, (Who, What, Where, Why and How) is an excellent scheme to follow.
-
What is/was my father's name? My mother's birth name?
-
When were they born, married, died?
-
Where were they born, married, died?
-
Who are my brothers/sisters?
-
Repeat this for both sets of grandparents and go back as far as you can remember. You'd be surprised how much information you can
gather!
