Occupation note: Wilhelm was a limestone worker in Germany.
Family notes: The family left Germany because they objected to their boys being inducted into the army. After leaving Germany, the ship stopped in England where Wilhelm purchased a muzzle loading gun which is in the possession of a great-great-grandson today. The family settled in Wisconsin and land was purchased on July 1, 1848. Wilhelm was one of the first members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kenosha County, Wisconsin.
Immigration note: Wilhelm, Margaretha, and family sailed aboard the ship Ontario out of the port of Antwerp, Belgium. They landed at the port of New York on November 4, 1846.

4. Wilhelm (b 29 Oct 1830 in Butzdorf, d 23 Apr 1898 in Paris, WI), married 11 May 1857 to Catherine Hensgen
5. Peter (b 19 Feb 1833 in Butzdorf, d 15 Jul 1884 in Caledonia, WI), married 7 Jan 1861 to Catherine Bell
6. Johannata (b 5 Sep 1834 in Butzdorf, d unknown), married Peter Reiplinger
7. Elisabeth (b 31 Mar 1836 in Butzdorf, d 9 Aug 1837 in Butzdorf)
8. Franz (b 21/22 Nov 1841 in Butzdorf, d 17 Apr 1915 in Racine, WI), married 30 Jan 1866 to Magdalena Buchmann. Franz participated in the California gold rush in 1849. He enlisted in the Union Army of the Civil War, Company C, 26th Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteers of Racine.
